On June 30, Wonder Woman, the popular comic character, will undergo a dramatic makeover with the release of Issue No. 600 of her monthly series.

The DC Comics super heroine, which first appeared in 1941 will now don a new — and less revealing costume replacing the older version which has resembled a star-spangled swimsuit for most of her history. Her costume will get a modern update, with leggings and a strapless top.

"The original costume was the American flag brought to life," said Jim Lee, co-publisher of DC and designer of the new look. "This one is a little more universal." (NYT Photo)
