Hyundai Verna

The new Verna Transform, the third vehicle from the company's stable to go under this ‘transformation' after the Sonata and the i20, comes with a 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel option. The diesel variant is also available in a four-speed automatic transmission, and is the only diesel car in this segment with this feature. The petrol variant churns out 103 Bhp of power through a five-speed transmission.
Maruti Suzuki SX4
Rs 6.8 lakh – Rs 9.6 lakh
The petrol variant of the SX4 comes in two transmission options—a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic. It is powered by a 1.6-litre engine VVT that churns out 104 Bhp of power. The diesel variant comes with a 1.3-litre engine that belts out 90 Bhp of power.
Fiat Linea
Rs 7.05 lakh – Rs 9.5 lakh
The Linea is available in two engine variants—a 1.4 litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel. The 16-valve DOHC engine produces 90 Bhp of power at 6000 RPM and a maximum torque of 115 Nm at 4500 RPM. The multi-jet diesel variant produces maximum power of 93 Bhp at 4000 RPM and maximum torque of 209 Nm at 2000 RPM. Both engines come with five-speed manual transmission.
Mitsubishi Cedia
Rs 8.24 lakh – Rs 8.9 lakh
The Cedia comes with only one engine option, a 2-litre petrol, which delivers 115 Bhp of power at 5250 RPM and a torque of 175 Nm at 4250 RPM, and comes paired with a five-speed manual transmission. There are only two variants available—Sports and Select, with the former being cheaper.
Nissan Sunny
Rs 6 lakh – Rs 8.9 lakh
The Sunny comes in three petrol and two diesel options. All variants come with manual transmissions. The petrol option is powered by a 1.5-litre engine that produces 100 Bhp of maximum power. The diesel engine, slightly smaller at 1461cc, belts out 86 Bhp of maximum power.
Honda City
Rs 7.2 lakh – Rs 10.5 lakh
The City comes with one engine and two transmission options. The 1.5-litre petrol comes in manual and automatic transmission versions—both five-speed. It produces 116.38 bhp of power at 6600 RPM.
Mahindra Verito
Rs 5.2 lakh – Rs 7.2 lakh
The Verito comes with two engine and one transmission options. The 1.4-litre petrol produces a top power of 75 Bhp at 5500 RPM. The diesel variant comes with a 1.5-litre engine, which belts out maximum power of 65 Bhp at 4000 RPM.
