The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is Google's flagship device for the latest generation of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich which will unify the tablet and smartphone operating systems. It will also bring the most exhaustive set of upgrades to smartphones since Android 2.2 froyo.

Android 4.0: Ice Cream Sandwich brings an entirely new look and feel to Android. The lock screen, widgets, notifications, multi-tasking and everything in between has been rethought and refined to make Android simpler and, more importantly, it has unified the tablet and smartphone experience.

Android Beam: With Galaxy Nexus, we can now easily share contacts, websites, apps, maps, directions and YouTube videos via NFC technology, though Google calls it Android Beam. All that we need to do is hold two NFC enabled Android phones close to each other and touch it to beam and share.

Slim and Curved Design: Galaxy Nexus features a Contour Display similar to the Nexus S, but now it features a button less interface. At just 8.84mm thick, it also is amongst the slimmest smartphones in market, slimmer than the iPhone 4S which is measured at 9.3mm.

Fast & 4G: The Galaxy Nexus features a TIOMAP 1.2 GHz dual-core processor which is matched with 1 GB of RAM. While this is nothing worth boasting as there are already devices like the Galaxy S2 which offer similar horsepower, the Galaxy Nexus indeed has the chops to keep up with the best in the market. The device is slated to launch in markets where 4G is already available. It's unlikely, though, that the 4G enabled version will come to India.
