National Award winning actor Prakash Raj dons the director's hat for his new home production Dhoni.
Dhoni is the story of Subrahmanyam (Prakash Raj), a middle-class man, who has to work hard in order to provide good education to his daughter Kaveri (Sriteja) and Karthick (played by Puri Jagannath's son Akash).
But his son Karthick aims to be a cricketer like Indian skipper MS Dhoni and doesn't want to pursue MBA in future. Karthick's attention dips in school and the principal calls his father. But Karthick's cricket coach (Nazar) is all praise for the young lad.
Karthick's cricket coaching is stopped and he joins extra classes but is still unable to cope up.
In a fit of rage Subramanyam hits Karthick and hurts him on his head. Subramanyam is then jailed.
Subramanyam realises his mistake and understands that his son has always dreamed of becoming a cricketer. He now helps his son achieve his goal.
As always Prakash Raj has given an excellent performance. Radhika Apte, who plays the role of Nandini and Mugdha Godse are good. Akash (who plays the role of Karthick) has given an extraordinary performance.
Prabhu Deva has done a special song and Skipper MS Dhoni is seen in a guest appearance.
Music maestro Illayaraja's background score elevates the scenes and the songs are very nice.
On the whole Dhoni is a good entertainer and worth spending your money on.
