A visibly distraught Mr Haasan warned that he would seriously think of leaving the country if such an incident were to occur again.
"I am not threatening, I am hurt. This is my country," Kamal Haasan said.
Kamal Haasan appealed to everyone not to disrespect artists. "They are your ambassadors, not politicians," he said.
The actor is expected to begin a first round of talks with several Muslim groups soon to try and sort out differences over his 95-crore spy thriller so that it can release in Tamil Nadu.
