Seven criminals arrested in Patna

Patna: The police on Friday arrested seven persons, stated to be criminals, and seized cash, arms and ammunition from them under various police station areas in Bihar's Patna district, a police officer said.

Acting on a tip off, the Special Task Force and local police raided Sadisho village under Bihta police station area and arrested three persons for allegedly running a job racket in railway, Senior Superintendent of Police Amrit Raj said.

Various documents and Rs 2.55 lakh in cash were seized from their possession, he said.

Two more persons were arrested near the Mahavir Mandir under Kotwali police station area where they were wandering in a suspicious manner, SSP Raj said.

Three country-made pistols and six magazines were seized from them.

In another raid, the police arrested two persons, both history-sheeters, from Kachchi Talab locality under Gardanibagh police station while they were planning to commit a crime, SSP Raj said.

A sophisticated pistol, two country-made pistols and 14 ammunitions were seized from their possession.
