President polls: Will APJ Abdul Kalam run? BJP sends emissary, decision likely today

Former President Dr APJ Kalam is, according to sources, likely to announce his decision today on whether he will contest the Presidential election. That could change the political landscape considerably. The BJP is itching to take on the ruling UPA, which has announced Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee as its candidate. However, its ally, Nitish Kumar of the JD(U) does not want to field a candidate against Mr Mukherjee.
