DMK reverses out of threat to quit UPA over petrol prices

As his party held protests against the new petrol prices in Tamil Nadu, the chief of the DMK, M Karunanidhi, warned the UPA to reverse the price hike announced last week. The DMK is a key member of the UPA coalition. "Don't push us further," Mr Karunanidhi warned the government that his party participates in. "The DMK will not hesitate to walk out of the UPA to protest anti-people policies," he said.
