Speeding car lands three teens in hospital

Returning from a walk in the evening proved almost fatal for three school-going girls yesterday when a speeding car crashed into them at Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Marg (Cadell Road) near Shivaji Park, Dadar. After an evening stroll, the three victims - Smruti Narkar, 16, Kruttika Nandalaskar, 15, and Deepali Gurav, 15 - who are residents of Dadar, were returning home, when a silver Baleno crashed into them opposite Dr Antonio Da Silva Technical High School around 4.30 pm. The incident occurred when Aadesh Vaiti, the driver of the car, tried to skip a red signal, and in the process rammed into the trio. The impact of the car was so strong that the three girls landed a few metres away from the spot and the car across the road.
