The three-day event is essentially a combination of the dressage, cross country and showjumping events. The showjumping and cross-country parts of this event abide by the normal procedures. This takes place over a 20-30km course divided into four sections: warm-up, a steeplechase of 3,105m-3,450m scattered with eight to 10 obstacles, another warm-up and a cross-country of 6,480-7,980m with 35 obstacles. Penalties and points are are attributed to riders and their horses in the event of refusal or a first fall. If a second fall occurs, the rider is disqualified. More
