It's usually parents who teach their children how to do new stuff but what happens when the tables turn and it's the child teaching mum or dad how to do something new? That's apparently what this new video by Girliyapa, a YouTube channel for women, attempts to show. Their video, shared some 18 hours ago, has been trending on YouTube. Some of you might relate but we think the video - in which a daughter tries to teach mom to drive - verges on the absurd.
The video shows Nikki trying to teach her mother how to drive. She uses her dad's car for the lesson and he doesn't seem too happy about it. "
Meri gaadi ko kuch hua toh tu dekh lena," he warns her. And thus begins the lesson.
The sketch is rather exaggerated in several parts. For example, Nikki tells her mother to hold the steering wheel in a 10-and-2 position, just like she holds the
chhanni on Karwa Chauth apparently. Umm... alright.
Next, she tells her mom to adjust the rear view mirror. So mum takes this opportunity to fix her
bindi instead. When daughter explains the mirror is so she can see vehicles behind the car and insists it needs to be set into the correct position, the mother is shown getting upset. She goes on tell her daughter the things she did for her. "How you are talking," she tell Nikki. They also make some pointless jokes about bras that didn't really need to be there. This is topped by Nikki teaching her mum how to maneuver the gear with a dance routine of sorts. We're not quite sure what kind of driving lesson this is.
The one moment that is relatable is when Nikki asks her mum to release the clutch gently and she doesn't - hardly any new driver manages to pull this feat off the first time.
Meanwhile, dad sitting in the backseat, cannot stop his running commentary on his wife's driving lesson. Turns out, she does have a driving license already but this is the first time she's learning how to drive in years.
The video is quite over the top but people online seem to like it. "I wish it was a bit longer," says one commenter. "So relatable," say several others.
