The greatest love stories are the ones that remain untold, if only because it is simplicity that makes them so beautiful. Luckily for us, the Humans of Bombay Facebook page is particularly gifted at unearthing stories as heart-warming as this senior citizen's from Mumbai.

This resident of Mumbai celebrated her 60th birthday some years ago and, in her post, details how her husband made it extra special and how their love story began - and ended.

It all started when they were students together in medical school and belonged to the same study group. Eventually, they ditched the group and studied together and love blossomed.

They got married and lived in USA and London before finally moving to Mumbai. "We led very simple lives the two of us, but he was always doing things to make me happy," she recalls.

The most special thing her husband ever did for her was to book a surprise trip to see the Taj Mahal for her 60th birthday because she complained that they had never been to the Taj despite their love story. He even booked a room from where she could see the Taj every morning. And that was special to her.

A few years ago, they discovered they had limited time together after her husband was diagnosed with cancer - but they made the most of it, travelling, having lunch together, come home early.

Of all the holidays the took together, she cherishes a five day break in Goa. "Even though he would tire very easily on that trip, we've gone for long walks on the beach, eaten amazing food, did the couple Spa and even gambled. We really loved each other, really I wouldn't have ever lived my life differently," she says.

The post ends with how she loved the simple life they built together. They didn't go for fancy dinners or dates but for her, life was perfect.

"You know I read somewhere that you have 7 lives and Karma defines how your every life will be - so I must have done something amazing, because this was my perfect life with him," she concludes.
