Just weeks after Bengaluru girl Ranjani Shanker's post about an auto driver who went out of his way to make sure she reached home safe went viral on Facebook, comes quite a different post from the same city. Ranjani's tale helped us feel slightly more confident about travelling at night, but Neha Agrawal's Facebook post sends chills down our spines.

In a note posted on the Bengaluru Traffic Police page, Neha shares the harrowing experience she had while riding in an auto at around 8:00 pm on July 20.

Neha sensed that someone was hiding right behind her seat in the auto. "Light from oncoming vehicles made a metallic kind of flash behind me which made me sure that someone is ducking in the rear space behind the seat and he is holding something in his hand," she writes.

Neha thought quickly. She made no sudden movements while she planned her escape from the auto. She found her opportunity - "at the left turn opposite to Gopalan Mall traffic was moving slow because of rush hour and heavy rain" - and jumped out of the moving auto. She even bumped into a car in the process, but luckily wasn't hurt.

"There was a Traffic Police Officer over there who came running as well," she writes. She pointed at the auto, which was stuck in traffic. When the officer caught hold of the auto driver, there was indeed a little boy crouched behind the back seat, holding a knife.

While the policeman dealt with the two, his colleague escorted Neha to a different auto. She was at first nervous about travelling alone. "I was scared and said I'll walk but he convinced me that I was safe," she writes.

At the end of her post, Neha thanks Bengaluru Traffic Police for all their help. "I am still amazed and scared at the same time. I did not get a chance to thank them at the very moment. So, here is a Big THANK YOU! Bengaluru Traffic Police."
