A journalist in the Big Apple managed to capture heartstopping footage of the exact moment the Empire State Building was struck by lightning.

It seems Henrik Moltke was in the right place at the right time and ultra-quick with the lens when he captured the stunning video, captioned 'Boom'. He even tweeted pictures of the moment, which quickly went viral.

Since being posted some 16 hours ago, the picture has been retweeted over 1,000 times and has almost 1,500 'likes' on Twitter. As soon as the picture went up, tweeple began asking if he also had a video and, luckily, he had shot one.
