Sushma Swaraj Posts Pic With Sonu, 12, Brought Home After 6 Years

Within an hour of being shared, this picture of Sonu with Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has found a lot of love on Twitter.

Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj tweeted a heartwarming picture of herself embracing 12-year-old Sonu, who has been brought home to Delhi from Bangladesh after he went missing six years ago.

"Sonu - who was kidnapped from Delhi was found in a shelter home in Bangladesh. We matched the DNA with his mother. The test is positive,"Ms Swaraj tweeted on June 28, adding that he would reach Delhi on June 30.

True to her word, the foreign affairs minister tweeted this picture of Sonu's return:
 
Within an hour of being shared, the picture found love on Twitter with almost 600 retweets and over 1,300 'likes'.

Sonu was traced to Jessore, Bangladesh, earlier and a senior official of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka went to meet him on the minister's directive, reports news agency IANS.

Ms Swaraj had also tweeted Sonu's story, thanking all those in Bangladesh who looked after the young boy.
 
Sonu's homecoming is being celebrated on Twitter, making him trend on the social networking site.
