Not Like the Rest of Us, After All? Cindy Crawford's 'Real Body' May Just be Perfect

This image of Cindy Crawford was leaked on the Internet.

Guess what? Cindy Crawford's 'real body' may actually be perfect.

Weeks ago, social media was beside itself over an allegedly 'un-Photoshopped' picture showing the 49-year-old supermodel posing in lingerie and a feather coat, proudly displaying wrinkles and age spots.

The photo prompted a debate over the fashion industry's use of Photoshop to manipulate pictures of models to look 'perfect' and Twitter hailed Ms Crawford as a champion of 'real' women.

Turns out, the supposedly 'un-Photoshopped' image, believed to be from the December 2013 issue of Marie Claire Mexico, may be a fake. Photographer John Russo, the man behind the shoot for Marie Claire, says that the photo that was 'leaked' wasn't the one he shot. Mr Russo told ABC News that the image was "stolen or unlawfully accessed and then altered and distributed to the media."

Soon after the photo was leaked, Ms Crawford's husband Rande Gerber posted a picture of her on Instagram in which she looked nothing like the one on Marie Claire's cover.

In a blog post, Marie Claire, the magazine that the photo was said to have been shot for, wrote, "No matter where the photo came from, it's an enlightenment - we've always known Crawford was beautiful, but seeing her like this only makes us love her more."

The photo made the rounds on social media after it was tweeted out by British journalist Charlene White. She has now removed the tweet.
