New smart contact lenses for 'superhuman' vision

New smart contact lenses for 'superhuman' vision
Washington: A US based company has developed new smart contact lenses that give wearers 'superhuman' vision, allowing them to see objects in fine details not visible to the natural eye.

The contact lenses give wearers enhanced focusing abilities, so they can see near and far at levels beyond what the normal eye can see.

Dubbed iOptik, the system could do away with TV screens, experts say.

If users put a finger up to their eye while wearing the contact lenses, they can actually see the fine details of their fingerprint, 'Mashable' reported.

The Innovega eyewear system is made up of two parts: glasses and contact lenses.

The system allows the users to see projected digital information, such as driving directions and video calls.

The tiny 'screens' sit directly on a users' eyeballs and work with a pair of lightweight glasses.

The contact lenses may also serve the purpose of vision correction as normal contact lenses do.
