NASA To Beam A Tweet Into Space. You Can Send Your #MessageToVoyager Too

The contest opened on August 1 and entries will be accepted till August 15

New Delhi: How cool does the thought of having your tweet beamed into space sound? Out of this world, right? The idea may soon come true with a little help from NASA and its trusty space probe 'Voyager 1'.

To celebrate four decades of the mission exploring the solar system, NASA is inviting aam janta to send their "uplifting" messages to congratulate the space probe. The winning tweet will be beamed towards the Voyager 1 space mission. The unique contest is inspired by "The Golden Record", a disk with sounds and photos of life on earth sent to space aboard the Voyager 1 and 2 back in 1977.

The memo is simple. Post your message with the hashtag #MessageToVoyager before August 15 and people at NASA, the Voyager mission and Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) will select the top picks. These will then be put to vote in a public poll. The winner's tweet will be beamed towards the mission on September 5 and reach the probe the following day.
