Say what? India in just one day? Sounds impossible - but then, impossible is nothing in the age of Google. Some of cinema's biggest names have joined forces with the internet giant to crowdsource a film about India.

The Martian director Ridley Scott, no less, is partnering with Anurag Kashyap and Google India to produce "the story of evolving India." Directing credit will go to Canadian filmmaker Richie Mehta while Zoya Akhtar, Shekhar Kapur and R Balki serve as creative consultants.

In a video montage that captures various moments in and around the country and its people, the filmmakers urge citizens to share their perspective of "India in a day."

"On October 10, film your day and you could be part of a film that tells the story of India at a moment of dramatic change," it says on YouTube. "Distinctive and compelling videos submitted" will be pieced together for a special film that shows India as it is seen by its citizens.
