The legendary Pran Kumar Sharma died earlier today leaving the generation that who grew up reading Chacha Chaudhary, Pinki and Billoo, devasted.

Here's our list of five fantastic things that Pran taught us through his beloved and immensely popular comic series, Chacha Chaudhary:

1. Chacha Chaudhary wasn't superhero. He did not fight crime wearing a cape; nor did he have a fancy car or a bank balance to die for. Chacha Chaudhary was just a local wise old man with a towering intellect. Pran wanted to model him after Chanakya. He succeeded, we think.

2. While reading the comic books we would unconsciously keep repeating, Chacha Chaudhary ka dimag computer se bhi tez chalta hai ,every time he would beat a criminal. He did not need gadgets, or technology. He fought crime and criminals with his brains and his walking stick. And of course Saboo.

3. We were reminded very often of the evils of uncontrollable anger. After all, every time Saboo lost his temper, a volcano would erupt in Jupiter.

4. Chacha also gave marital advice which we were too young to get back then. Remember Bini, his rolling pin wielding wife? Only Chacha's sharp wit could have survived her sharp tongue.

5. He was kind to animals, stray or otherwise. An example that wasn't lost on us either. The stray dog, Rocket, who faithfully followed him around was quite a fan favourite as well. Also, both Chacha and Saboo loved nature. So we did too.

May you rest in peace Cartoonist Pran! You'll be missed.
