Attacked By Mob At Mall Near Delhi: Graphic Video Of Assault On Nigerian

Nigerians were attacked at a mall in Greater Noida by a mob for their alleged role in Drug trafficking

Greater Noida: The horror of what two Nigerians suffered on Monday evening at a mall near Delhi has been revealed in graphic detail by a new video. 21-year-old Enduranca Amalawa, a first year student at a university in Greater Noida, was at the Ansal Plaza in Greater Noida with his brother Precious and a friend when they were attacked by a large mob.

In the video, the student is on the floor as the attackers beat him repeatedly with a steel dustbin, bent out of shape by the impact, and other objects. Enduranca doesn't move and has his arms covering his face, but his helplessness does not move the mob, which continues to thrash him. He even tries to crawl and get away, but he is chased and beaten.

The new video has been posted by another African, Rashwan Dirshad Othman, on Facebook.

Enduranca is in hospital, heavily bandaged. His older brother Precious was with him when they hid in a trial room to escape the mob. The attackers broke the door down, dragged Enduranca out and attacked his brother with sharp objects.

This was one in a series of attacks on Nigerians on Monday. A few were attacked during a protest march called after the death of a Class 12 student in Greater Noida. The protesters alleged that the boy was drugged by Nigerians. On spotting some Africans at a shop, some 300 protesters started chasing and beating them. The violence stopped only when the police used batons.

Yesterday, a poster calling for "Nigerian-free Greater Noida" appeared at the site.

Responding to a student's desperate tweet, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj spoke to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday morning. The student had said that living in Noida was becoming a "life threatening issue".
