Headley-Rana's conversation about 26/11
NDTV Correspondent, Tuesday December 15, 2009, Chicago
The FBI's notice to the court says the conversation David Headley and Tahawwur Rana had in the car was on September 7 this year. It also makes it clear that Rana was told about the Mumbai attacks well before it was about to happen.

The car ride took place after Rana returned from meeting Pasha in Dubai.

We now know Pasha is an alias used by one Major Abdur Rahman Hashim Syed retired from the Pakistan Army closely linked to Ilyas Kashmiri. Pasha has recently been charged with plotting a terror attack on a Danish newspaper office. Its in Dubai Pasha tells Rana of the Mumbai attacks.

Headley: When Pasha met you in Dubai and told you this was about to happen. This one, after that when you landed in America, how did you find out about it?

Rana: I was in the air.

Headley: How did you find out about it in the air?

Rana: Yeah

Headley: Was it coming in writing there?

Rana: I was in the air and I went to...

Headley: Yeah

Rana: I went from Dubai to China; I was supposed to board the plane for America and this has started.

Headley: In Mumbai, yeah.

Rana: Yeah.

Headley: Did Pasha not say that?

Rana: Yes.

Headley: When he mentioned that...

Rana: What?

Headley: Pasha had mentioned that in Dubai that this is how...

Rana: That he said to me as well; but I deliberately have started planning.

Headley: Yes, yes absolutely.
