Pakistan Taliban have claimed responsibility for the nine bomb blasts that ripped through Lahore on Friday.

Seven low intensity blasts late on Friday night followed the twin blasts that shocked the city earlier in the afternoon, killing 57 people and injuring over 100. (Read: Lahore hit by 9 blasts, 57 killed)

The Taliban struck despite tight security in the army-controlled cantonment area.

It's believed the rise in attacks is in retaliation to Pakistan army's offensive against the Taliban.
