China's landmark Olympic stadium in Beijing, The Bird's Nest, is hosting a snow festival attracting thousands to a range of winter activities.

According to the organisers, more than 25,000 tons of snow was produced to cover 57,000 square metres of the ground.

The festival is supposed to go on for the next two months.

More than 1,000 visitors visited the stadium during the first morning of the snow festival.
