A shootout has taken place at an office building in Orlando, Florida.

Two people have reportedly died while eight people have been injured.

AFP adds:

The fire department has said that the gunman may still be at large.

A police helicopter hovered over the scene, as dozens of police cars locked down the area surrounding the Gateway Center and panicked workers rushed to safety, television images showed.

Orlando police received a call reporting a shooting at the same address at 11:49 local time.
