My Name Is Khan sets new Box Office records in US, Canada
NDTV Correspondent, Monday February 15, 2010, Washington DC

There may have been many problems and roadblocks for Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan's My Name Is Khan in India, but all the controversy has only added to the interest in the film - not just here but abroad as well.

Within three days of its release, the film has already turned out to be the largest weekend grosser Bollywood film ever in North America, recording an estimated US $1.86 million in the US and Canada.

My Name Is Khan also generated the highest per-theatre average of any film in the Top 20 over the weekend. The previous record was held by Shah Rukh's musical extravaganza Om Shanti Om.
