Indian peace march in Aus against racial attacks

Indian students poured out on Melbourne streets demanding action against the recent racial attacks on them.

The peaceful protest rally organised by the Indian students community is now heading to its endpoint.

The rally started from The Royal Melbourne Hospital, where Shravan Kumar, a student from Hyderabad, was attacked and is fighting for his life.

In the latest, doctors have taken Shravan Kumar off the ventilator, but he is still not out of danger.

The recent attacks like the one on Indian student Baljinder Singh and four brutal ones in May alone prompted the Indian students to take out a peace rally in Melbourne.

A candle light vigil will also be held in support for the recent victims of crime.

March or gathering of this kind will intensify the racism. We are having number of institutions with international standards in our country itself. Then why, people longing for abroad studies, as it gathers nothing but loosing an Indian by soul. These abroad students were culture ambassodor of the country, where they studied. This is an evil to the culture and heritage of our mother land. Be an Indian, study in India, trust India.

I think Indian govt. should pressurize the Austrailian govt. that it would end all business relations if there are anymore attacks on Indians and the culprits behind the present attacks are not brought to justice. A strong message should be sent by the govt. We do not depend on Austrailia for anything. Their universities need Indian students to keep them financially sound.
