A fresh wave of terror struck Pakistan, this time it was target Lahore. Three high-profile security establishments were attacked in the city.

At 9:15 am, when the city was getting to work, suddenly a group of terrorists stormed the Federal Investigation (FIA) building at the temple road.

After an operation that lasted for over two hours, seven people were killed; of these two were terrorists. A suicide jacket was also recovered from the spot.

A few kilometres away, terrorists stormed the Manawan Police Academy lobbing grenades, and two suicide bombers dressed as policemen, blew themselves up. A two-hour-long fierce gunbattle between terrorists and security forces followed, in which five policemen were killed and dozens were injured. It was the second time this year that terrorists targetted Manawan.

The operation at the Bedian police academy lasted the longest. Just 17 km from India border Wagah, 50 to 60 terrorists attacked the Elite Police Academy here and reports indicate that some of them were women. At least five people are killed and dozens critically injured.

The elite force has been at the forefront of battling terror activities.

In the North West Frontier Province (NWFP), a suicide bomber rammed explosive-laden vehicle into a police station in Kohat. Ten people died, and 20 were injured; some policemen and schoolchildren were among the dead.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban of Pakistan has claimed responsibility for all the attacks and has warned of more attacks for Army operations in South Waziristan.
