Hillary slams Pak's commitment to hunt Al-Qaida

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has questioned Pakistan's commitment to hunt top Al-Qaida leadership hiding inside the country and accused it of failing to track them down.

"Al-Qaida has had safe haven in Pakistan since 2002... I find it hard to believe that nobody in your government knows where they are and couldn't get them if they really wanted to," Clinton told a group of senior Pakistani journalists in Lahore on Thursday.

"Maybe that's the case, maybe they're not gettable. I don't know... As far as we know, they are in Pakistan," she said in unusually blunt remarks during a visit to Pakistan that is aimed at mending fences and improving strained ties.

Clinton's comments  made when a journalist asked why the war on terror has focused so much on Pakistan  reflected concerns expressed recently by senior American diplomats, including Ambassador Anne Patterson.

She also alluded to the role of Pakistan's powerful ISI agency, which has been accused of secretly supporting the militant groups.

In a remark that appeared aimed at the ISI, she said: "If we are going to have a mature partnership where we work together there are issues that, not just the US, but others have with your government and with your military security establishment."

Being a Pakistani i think there is no alqaeda at all. All this is just a game for capturing the resources of poor countries. Being a super power if u see your future dark and the emerging powers like china and india are threatening you. I think every body will do the same. Pakistan is now fighting for her own survival. I accept we had done blunders in the past by converting the world into a unipolar globe. We should have not taken part in the war against Russia. But this is all politics. Even still we are fighting a labelled war. In fact nothing is there. If Mir Aimel Kassi could be executed with capital punishment. And caught from pakistan. Why not Usama. Reality is Alqaeda is a just a rubber stamp and a good reason to block china from reaching the arabian sea and middle eastern countries. There are chances that pakistan would be disintegrated. As balochistan full of resources is a strategic asset in this reagion. Also it is full of resorces. America s survival with a label of Super Power is contingent upon blockade of China. Which could only happen when Pakistan is god forbid disintegrated. India is also playing her role to dis integrate us. As this will help india to proceed china. Lets see what happens. If you see our muslim history we had also done blunders. Used illegal ways to maintain our sovereignity. But this is the time that we (the masses of two countries should join hands). Lets serve one another. We can keep our selves away from exploiting one another. Lets respect the sovereingity, survival and dignity of one another.
