The Queensland University has written to actor Amitabh Bachchan asking him to reconsider his decision to reject their honourary doctorate.

The megastar had refused to accept their tribute citing the race attacks on Indians in Australia.

Now the Vice-Chancellor, Queensland Technical University, has written to him, saying they understand the circumstances leading to his refusal and hope he can accept the honour at a later date.

They have also reassured him that they are doing all that they can to ensure the safety of all students.

Bachchan, who refused the honorary doctorate, said he could not bring himself to go for celebration in a country which has witnessed horrific acts against his own countrymen.

Hey Tamilan ver2.0. Firstly, the SL issue and the attacks in Australia are unrelated issues. India probably didn't interfere in SL as the SLA was fighting a terrorist organization. On the contrary, the attacks in Oz involved innocent (law abiding) students. Simple logic! Donno how it didnt cross your mind.

When North Indians were attacked in Mumbai, Amitabh's heart didn't say anything? Not just him, whole film fraternity choose to keep mum only because they fear that by saying anything against the attacks they will invite ire of some leaders which will make it hard for their films to be released in Maharashtra. Amitabh has listened to his heart this time because by refusing he is not causing any financial harm to himself nor to his producers. Bottom line is, if money is not involved people listen to their heart. But Big B by making this public has given an indication that he might be interested in joining politics.
