The Queensland University has written to actor Amitabh Bachchan asking him to reconsider his decision to reject their honourary doctorate.
The megastar had refused to accept their tribute citing the race attacks on Indians in Australia.
Now the Vice-Chancellor, Queensland Technical University, has written to him, saying they understand the circumstances leading to his refusal and hope he can accept the honour at a later date.
They have also reassured him that they are doing all that they can to ensure the safety of all students.
Bachchan, who refused the honorary doctorate, said he could not bring himself to go for celebration in a country which has witnessed horrific acts against his own countrymen. |
