Al-Qaida helping LeT launch attack in India: Gates
Press Trust of India, Friday December 4, 2009, Washington
The Al-Qaida is helping and providing assistance to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in launching terror attacks in India with the objective of provoking a conflict between India and Pakistan, US Defence Secretary Robert Gates said on Thursday.

"Al-Qaida is supportive of Lashkar-e-Toiba.... Al-Qaida is providing them with targeting information and helping them in their plotting in India, clearly with the idea of provoking a conflict between India and Pakistan that would destabilise Pakistan," Gates told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

The LeT is blamed for the Mumbai terror attacks that killed 166 people, including foreigners.

Ok I have been Positive for U.S for it help in fighting Terrorist. I disagree with Gates, that Al-Qaida is helping Let, Pakistan has been helping terror outfit for last 20 years. You can not differentiate Al-Qaida and Let. They are terrorist. He is even stupid mention that, that way he is implying that he does not see Let as a Terror outfit but only Al- Qaida. That way he wants to win some muslim hearts in Pakistan by apeasing them. This not a way to fight terrorism, you can not appease one and counter another one. If U.S.A follows this path, then Good luck fighting terror.

It seems that most countries of the world know that what Gates said is true. But Pakistan continues to live in denial despite having thier own country ravaged by the LET & Al Qaeda. What more proof do they need? The goverment of pakistan is hesitant to act against the terrorists mainly because thier own intelligence is infiltrated with supporters of these terrosists.
