Only Royals can buy Pak players: Modi

Speaking to NDTV from the ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos, IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi said that he is unfortunate that the Pakistani players were not picked.

Modi also said that the IPL franchises were solely responsible for picking their teams and were not influenced.

He added that now only Rajasthan Royals have the fund to sign additional players and if they want, they can buy Pakistani players.

They should never set foot in India until we solve our problems. We have been on the back foot for so long..... Pakistan is ticking bomb that is just waiting to explode. all we have to do is turn a deaf year to them and wait for events to happen. I will also pray for that.

What happened on 26/11 is still so raw in people's minds. How can people from a neighbouring country just jump off the boats with rifles and start shooting innocent people and also start destroying the infrastructure of a neighbouring country They cant be friends. Shahid Afridi and his colleagues should understand the situation and condemn what happened.We never hear any of these players saying anything to this effect. Why get angry? All they want to say is they want to play and earn big money. The relationship is not just based on cricket but a whole lot of issues including trust, security and respect for the Indian Nation and its people
