Harsh advances, Purav loses in Champaign event

Bidding for his fourth ATP Challenger title of the season, Harsh Mankad has reached the quarter-finals of the doubles event of the Champaign event in the United States along with his partner Treat Conard Huey.

The second seeded Indo-Philippines pair scored a 6-4 6-3 win over American Nicholas Monroe and Izak Van der Merwe of South Africa in the first round of the $50,000 hard court event.

However, Purav Raja and his British partner Richard Bloomfield crashed out after suffering a 0-6 6-7(2) defeat against Dominic Inglot of Britain and American Rylan Rizza.
