With the controversy over IPL raging, BCCI Vice-President Rajiv Shukla met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today. This was the second meeting Shukla, who is also a Congress MP, had with the Prime Minister in the last three days. "How can I disclose what transpired between me and my leader?" Shukla asked while talking to reporters here. The meeting comes in the backdrop of reports that the Prime Minister was concerned over the issue.

‘Missing’ IPL bid papers with us: Adani Group

The Adani Group, that had participated in the recent Indian Premier League auction for two new teams, has issued a statement refuting reports that their bidding papers had gone missing. Reports surfaced earlier this week suggesting that the bidding papers of the Adani and the Videocon groups, which had bid unsuccessfully at the auction, were missing and the Income Tax department was hunting for them to close gaps in its investigations.

IPL would feel the loss if Modi goes: Afridi

Under-fire IPL commissioner Lalit Modi has found support from an unlikely quarter in Pakistan's Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi, who feels the cash-awash event would be at loss if the man who launched it goes. "I don't know what will happen tomorrow but I feel that if Modi goes then the IPL will feel his loss because he played a big part in conceiving it and launching it," Afridi said.

Mumbai Indians declare equity holdings

In the midst of a raging controversy over financing of IPL, Mumbai Indians, one of the eight franchises, has filed its equity holding pattern with the League. According to the filing made public today, 98.3 per cent of the equity of Mumbai Indians' franchisee, IndiaWin Sports Pvt Ltd, is held by Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings Ltd (RIIHL) and the remaining 1.7 per cent is held by Teesta Retail Pvt Ltd.
