Local support for 26/11 not ruled out
NDTV Correspondent, Saturday November 21, 2009, Mumbai
The 26/11 terrorists either had advance teams study the targets or local support to carry out the strikes, former NSG chief J K Dutt tells NDTV. It's an allegation that has been repeatedly denied by the government and security agencies. “There could have been local support for the 26/11 attacks. Given how well the terrorists seemed to know their targets, either they had advance teams for reconnaissance or local support that guided them to their targets, said Dutt, who led the operations during the siege.

Devika, youngest witness in 26/11 trial
NDTV Correspondent, Thursday November 19, 2009, Mumbai
"I feel very sad as I am unable to play because of my injury. When I see other children playing, I long to join them. But the terrorists broke my leg in such a way that I cannot play.'' Ten-year-old Devika remembers what happened on 26/11 as if it were yesterday. And she relives it often in court. The youngest witness in the 26/11 case is still getting used to her crutches. She was with her father, Natwarlal, waiting at the Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) for a train to Pune, when two terrorists opened fire at the station. Bullets shattered Devika’s leg. One of the two terrorists would later be caught and identified as Ajmal Kasab. In June, Devika and her father testified against Kasab in court and identified him. Natwarlal says this is the only way that he can avenge what his daughter has gone through. “I get angry when I recall that day, but I refuse to get scared. We will stand up and fight if necessary,” he promises.

Almost a year has passed since Karkare's death. ”I have repeatedly met senior police officer to find out how my husband died but no one has given me any answer. I have been told that I will never know how he died,” Kavita said. “Even his bulletproof vest has gone missing - the vest's procurement file marks it missing. I always suspected they would say that the jacket has gone missing,” she said adding that policemen were giving out wrong details about the circumstances surrounding her husband's death.
