US agrees to India's terms

The US has agreed to India's terms for selling military equipment to the country. The military sale agreement which is called the End User Pact paves the way for huge military equipment sales by America to India. In a departure from previous agreements with other countries, America has agreed to India's terms. Under the pact, the US will not have a unilateral right to inspect India's military bases or military equipment sold to India.

Hillary meets S M Krishna

Foreign Minister S M Krishna held talks with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who is on a visit to India, on Monday. Addressing a joint press conference after the meeting, Krishna said that the talks covered bilateral ties, adding that India and the US regard each other as world powers. He said that new forum for meaningful dialogue has been created, which would cover climate change, disarmament and non-proliferation.
