Boy killed in Baramullah; Govt orders probe
NDTV Correspondent, Saturday October 3, 2009, Baramullah
Baramullah in North Kashmir is tense after a 15-year old boy, Irfan Lone, died in hospital on Friday evening.

He was allegedly hit by a tearsmoke shell fired by police during a pro-freedom protest demonstration in the town.

The J&K government has now ordered enquiry into the killing of the boy.

PTI adds:

At least five persons were injured, two of them critically, in the clashes.

The two critically injured youth were brought to Soura Medical Institute for specialised treatment, the sources said.

The trouble started shortly after Friday prayers when groups of youth took to the streets at Baramulla old town and Sopore, both 55 km from here, to protest the continuing house arrest of separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
