Supreme Court on abetment to suicide
NDTV Correspondent, Tuesday January 5, 2010, New Delhi

As the Ruchika case gathers momentum, the Supreme Court in a judgement on Tuesday said there has to be a clear intention of the accused to prove abetment to suicide.

The apex court said: "Abetment involves a mental process of instigating a person or intentionally aiding a person in doing of a thing. Without a positive act on the part of the accused to instigate or aid in committing suicide, conviction cannot be sustained."

Sources say, this judgement, which says each case has to be decided on the basis of its own facts and circumstances, may be used positively in the Ruchika case.

Every common person ,who has some understanding of life can easily understand --how miserable must be ruchika's life, that led her to end her life.It was direct result of rathore crime and continued harrassment of her family led to commit suicide. I hope our 'learned judjes' underatand this fact of life of common citizen and give harshest punisment to the culprit--not only for justice but also an example , so that nobody dares to do this crime again. Let them prove that they are truely at the service of taxpayers and citizens of this country.

It will be a miracle , if rathore gets maximum punishment for this henious crime and using his power to cover it up...lets hope our judiciary is good enough to nail this uncouth criminal..if not we will soon see , public taking law into their hands...for justice...and we become , Taliban
