Shopian case: J&K HC's nod for CBI probe
NDTV Correspondent, Wednesday August 19, 2009, Srinagar

The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has said it will not stand in the way of a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the Shopian alleged rape and murder case.

However, the court wants a senior ranking officer to head the probe.

The Bar, however, opposed the decision and said it doesn't trust the CBI. The J&K government had earlier said they were in favour of a CBI probe if the J&K HC allowed it.

The case relates to the alleged rape and murder of two women in May.
