Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Friday said medical reports confirm that there was rape, and the case has been fast-tracked to ensure speedy justice for the victim.

He was addressing a press conference along with National Commission for Women chairperson Girija Vyas, who met the victim and her family on Friday.

Vyas said that prima facie rape is proved, and they denounce it strongly. She further said that medical reports given prove that Shiney Ahuja's maid was raped.

"We are satisfied with the way the case is being handled," said Vyas.

I think its a a good move and to welcomed. It would save many people from agony, including his wife who seem to have hell bent in her attempt to stand by her husband.

There are thousands of women getting raped and burned for dowry. We never see women%u2019s' organization going to help them. When it came to Shiney%u2019s case she flew in from Delhi. This is nothing else but for cheap publicity. Hope their involvement does not nail shiny, even if he happens to be innocent. Hope we will see them flying to all places where there is atrocities against women, especially in U.P. Bihar, and recently there was another rape case in Mumbai. stop this cheap publicity stunt.
