Pune blast mastermind now in Pakistan, say sources
NDTV Correspondent, Monday March 15, 2010, New Delhi

Mohsin Chaudhary, the man who reportedly planned the Pune blast, is probably in Karachi, say sources in the Anti-Terror Squad, which is investigating the blast.

Sources say 35-year-old Chaudhary, who is the head of Pune branch of the Indian Mujahideen, escaped to Pakistan three days after the terror attack in the city.

Last month, a bomb exploded at Pune's German Bakery on a Saturday evening.  Seventeen people were killed, most of them young students and professionals.

The  German Bakery is a stone's throw from the Osho Ashram, and the Jewish community centre, both of which were surveyed by David Coleman Headley, the American arrested in September for planning and executing the 26/11 attacks against Mumbai.

Choudhary, who comes from Pune, is believed to be one of the founder members of the Indian Mujahideen.

The IM is believed to have executed the blast in close coordination with the Lashkar -e-Toiba (LeT). Intelligence officials say the Pune blast is typical of a new LET strategy to target places frequented by foreigners in "Tier-II" cities like Nagpur, Pune and Kochi.

Police could not trace him in India, but then are sure that he must be in Pakistan. How does that happen? Maybe, the terrorist cut moustache, changed hairstyle and then joined Mumbai Police and is now passing inner secrets to Dawood Ibrahim. Isn't that also possible?
