No Balochistan dossier was given to me: PM

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday said his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani had not handed over any dossier to him on Balochistan during their meeting in Egypt earlier this month.

Intervening in a discussion in the Lok Sabha on his recent visit to foreign countries, Singh said, "I categorically say no such dossier was given to me".

Singh met Gilani in Sharm-el Sheikh on the sidelines of the NAM summit.

Initiating the debate, BJP leader Yashwant Sinha had accused the Prime Minister of compromising India's foreign policy with the mention of Balochistan and warned that New Delhi will face pressure from the international community on the issue in future.

The need of the hour is to create a Berlin wall on Indo-Pak border. India must deal with honourable countries.

The statement of Hon. PM that "No Baluchistan dossier was given to me " to say the least, is astonishing. How did it surface in the joint statement then? People thinking that the Govt has softened the stand on terrorism, rightly so after going through it. Govt is facing so much embarrassment in the house, ( no doubt if it thinks so). Something somewhere is certainly wrong; while dealing with the foreign policy such blunders are not at all expected. Leave apart expectations, they are going to cost us heavily. They certainly have devalued our standing in the international communities.
