Narendra Modi, the Englishman
NDTV Correspondent, Friday November 20, 2009, Ahmedabad

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi wore a sporty look as he carried out a check on the progress of Sabarmati river front development project in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

The chief minister posed for cameras on the banks of Sabarmati river as his ministers and bureaucrats looked on.

This is something that Modi rarely does, perhaps another makeover, taking a shot at cowboy image.

It is sad that in India politicians who presided over genocides are revered as leaders. No matter how much he delivers economically for Gujarat, Modi has blood of Gujarat riot victims on his head. The real tragedy is that people are so forgetful or overcome by their hatred and prejudices that they continue to elect such politicians. Politicians like Modi, Rajiv Gandhi, Bhagat, Sajjan Kumar, Tytler take their election victory as justification for their murderous actions. Hitler made Germany a world power, but he and his supporters are remembered in history only as Jew killers. One can only pray to God that we Indians and our society will grow in consciousness and morality to call a murderer a murderer and not elect him as our leader!

Narendra Modi is the only polititian I have seen who is talking for development than any thing else. May be after 2 years, Sabarmati river front will be the best place to visit in India. Request to Narendra Modi to remain same as it is now.
