Mulayam makes Kalyan the scapegoat
NDTV Correspondent, Sunday November 15, 2009, Lucknow

After the Samajwadi Party's bypoll diastaer in Uttar Pradesh, the party seems to want to distance itself from former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kalyan Singh as far as possible.

Kalyan Singh is identified with the demolition of the Babri Masjid, as he was the chief minister of the state then.

And Mulayam's association with him is said to have cost Mulayam the humiliation of losing on his home ground in last week's election.

When asked about Kalyan Singh being part of the Samajwadi Party, Mulayam says he has never been part of the party and will never be a part of it.

"Kalayan Singh is not in the Samajwadi Party. He never was part of it," said Mulayam.

Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party is expected to decide on the fate of Kalyan Singh's son, Rajbir Singh, who was roped-in in the party last year, on Sunday.

There are reports that Rajbir may be expelled from Samajwadi Party. Rajbir was initially SP's candidate from Firozabad, which later went to Dimple Yadav Mulayam's daughter-in-law.

Rajbir campaigned in Firozabad extensively, but Dimple lost the election.

Kalyan Singh is nobody's COMRADE now. From his humble origins he became the CM of the biggest state in India due to BJP.He contributed for its downward trend in UP.Kalyan Singh and Umabaharathi lost their entire political clout after going out from the BJP.Better from them to come back to BJP at least they will get respect from the time Being.

One has to learn giving up a party where he was brought up and joining the other and blaming the formers won't help them to pick up the lost ground. This is not the only case of K'singh but Uma Bharati also. Mulayam Singh tried him but found to be no use. Both Kalyan and Mulayam have come to know their mistakes. But for Kalyan Singh no takers.
