Mining barons Reddys in trouble in Andhra
NDTV Correspondent, Wednesday November 11, 2009, Hyderabad

It's not even been a week since the standoff between the Reddy brothers and B S Yeddyurappa ended, and there's fresh trouble for Karnataka Tourism Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy.

The Andhra Pradesh government wants to probe the alleged illegal mining of iron ore and violation of forest laws by Obulapuram Mining Corporation and two other companies owned by the Reddy family.

The Congress-led government has ordered a three-member committee of Forest Department officials to inquire into the charges, but Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu is not satisfied.

The TDP, which alleges that the state government showed undue favour in issuing mining lease, wants the contract to the company suspended.

The Reddys, known as the Bellary Mining brothers, were close with former Andhra Chief Minister YSR Reddy and hold business interests with YSR's son Jaganmohan, which include Brahmani steels in Cuddapah and 17,000 acres of land alloted to them by YSR to set up a Rs 25,000-crore steel plant.

Congress is in power in AP and it is a secualar party. According to secular parties in India and secualar press, protecting secularism is important. Reddys were supported by Rajashekar Reddy and the minority community is happy with Rajashekar Reddy and Jaganmohan Reddy. The AP congres government inquiry will declare Janardhan Reddy activites as good after the inquiry as it would help them get the minority community vote as we are a secular country and should treat the minority community very well and should not take any action on any individuals who are pro minotirty community leaders like Rajashekar Reddy and Jaganmohan reddy. God will bless the secular Indian political parties and the secular Indian press as we protect minorities. Janardhan reddy are good people as they leaders like Rajashekar Reddy who support minorities like out secular parties and the private secular Indian press. The indian press is very secular and non biased and should only support Janardhan REddy and his brothers and not trouble them. Jai Hind
