May you beat Yamraj, Big B wishes Thackeray
Press Trust of India, Thursday July 9, 2009, Mumbai

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has been advised complete bed rest after he complained of severe stomach pain, inquired about the health of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray who had underwent angioplasty.

Bachchan has been in constant touch with Thackeray's son Uddhav to get updates about the health of the Sena chief.

"Balasaheb is showing signs of improvement. I wish him good health," Bachchan wrote on his blog.

The Bollywood legend recalled Thackeray's cartoon in 1982 after his near fatal accident in 1982, depicting that even though Yamraj, the God of death had come to visit him at Breach Candy hospital, he was able to fight him off successfully.

"I am no cartoonist, nor a painter, but I wish similar sentiment to him. May he ever fight off the evil of Yamraj," Bachchan wrote.

The actor said Thackeray has been unwell and within a very short span of time has been in hospital almost every other month.

"On all those occasions, I have been out of the country and unable to express my concern to him personally," he said.
