Twenty two family members of those who died fighting for the nation are back in Kargil. Eight among them are widows of the brave men, and they want their children to join the army.

It was 10 years ago when young Indian soldiers were ordered to evict Tiger Hilltop of Pakistani intruders. Some of the bravest soldiers to participate in the assault were jawans and officers of 8 Sikh Regiment.

Thirty five brave officers and jawans died in the several assaults that they launched. Now 10 years later, a group of family members of jawans who actually fought during the Tiger Hill offensive are back Dras to see first hand where their loved ones went down fighting.

"Our family had two brothers, they never came back. They died in the Kargil war. They were advancing to the Tiger Hill where they sacrificed their lives," said a relative of one the martyrs.

"He was my elder brother. I have come here with my sister-in-law. What else can I say? I can recollect that day. When I saw Tiger Hill, I was scared to know my brother scaled such heights," said another.

"We have been invited to Kargil on the 10th anniversary. We want our children to join the army," said a war widow.
