NDTV Correspondent, Tuesday September 22, 2009, Midnapore
In West Bengal's Midnapore district once again there is tension over suspected Maoists clashing with villagers. Police have launched a search operation near Enayatpur village in West Midnapore district for Maoists who clashed with villagers on Monday evening.

No one has been killed so far, but three people have been injured in the gun battle.

Enayatpur is about 15-20 km away from the district headquarters of Midnapore. The villagers who clashed with the Maoists were part of a resistance group formed by the CPI (M) to counter attacks by the Maoist.
