96% Chinese against Indian visits to Arunachal
Press Trust of India, Wednesday October 14, 2009, New Delhi
Upping the ante on Arunachal Pradesh, a leading Chinese official newspaper Wednesday said that an "overwhelming majority" of its web users were against "frequent" visits to the "disputed area" by Indian leaders.

An online poll conducted by huanqiu.com, the website of the Global Times' Chinese edition, showed that an overwhelmingly majority of users were against the visits.

"About 96 per cent of the over 6,000 respondents agreed that they felt agitated by the frequent visits by Indian leaders to the disputed area, while about 2 per cent disagreed and 2 per cent said they didn't care," said the paper, a sister publication of the ruling Communist Party's mouthpiece, People's Daily.

The paper's rather unusual step of carrying out an online survey came a day after China again raked up its claim over Arunachal Pradesh, questioning Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit there on October 3.

China accuses India of possessing some 90,000 sq km of Chinese territory, mostly in Arunachal Pradesh.

I think China is laying a ground to do something bigger. India needs to be careful. Though China used to do that, however India should think out of the box why Chinese suddenly increased their pitch. This may be just show off of muscle power in the region or a Strategic game plan to do something big in future. Since disturbance in Pakistan is taking the time and attention of all international community including UN, USA & Europe, China has found it easier to raise its propaganda against India. To add to that it%u2019s making ground hold of Nepal & Srilanka %u2013 both these countries were pro-India in the past. Ministers of these countries are visiting China, that should also worry India in giving situation. Secondly, India should immediately start building strong and long term relationship (be it Trade, Tourism, Technology sharing, Cultural, Regional & Religional, etc. etc) with small & neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Srilanka, Tibet, Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippine and Japan & Singapore. This would go a long way. Thirdly, India should plan to relocate its population into the boundary areas like Nagaland, Assam, Kashmir, Arunachal, Gujarat, Maharashtra etc. By this I mean, millions of people from Bihar, Orissa and other places come to Delhi, Bombay like places. So instead of them coming and exploited, government should run projects (like dams, buildings, roads, etc. ) in Boundary areas and bring people from Bihar and Orissa and give them employment. This will equalize the stress and also pro-nation people will reach at the boundaries, who are Indian by their mind, heart and will. Move more and more population from Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Orissa and other places to Srinagar/Kashmir, Arunachal, Nagaland, Gujarat on Projects like Roads, Dams, Building etc.) It%u2019s time that India to set its scores correct with China %u2013 be it the Himalayas, Arunachal or even the Tibet issue. China is a strong nation and there is not going to be an easy outcome. India needs to play a Mind game thru media, paper, politically, regionally etc. before taking it on a physical level. India should start highlighting the concerns with China on all International forums lobbying UN and Human Rights etc. Today or tomorrow, India has to stand against a couple of countries. It%u2019s historical %u2013 Indian never intruded in any other country and if we want no other country to intrude into India it has to build itself strong %u2013 Militarily, Technologically, Educationally, Religionally etc. It%u2019s high time that India should launch a programme like Free Basic Education for all (though it%u2019s there, but now it should be forced). Education should be given mainly to distressed population be it Hindu, Muslim or Sikh. Education has to reach all the nook and corners of the country, main focus to be given to boundary areas. They need to come above their religion and should think that HUMANITY is bigger than any Religion %u2013 this would only come through Education. I don%u2019t think any educated person will kill other just because of religion, (cynical are exception).

I think that our Indian govt should facilitate the proposed future visit of Dalai Lama to Arunachal Pradesh, thereby send a strong signal to Chinese that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India. Also India should raise the TIBET Issue at International level meeting regularly
