J&K govt suspends 27 striking doctors
NDTV Correspondent, Saturday October 24, 2009, Srinagar
The Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended 27 doctors and many others have been sent back to the health department.

The action follows the indefinite strike by over 2,000 junior doctors, demanding better pay and stipend for resident doctors.

The doctors' strike has crippled health services in Jammu and Srinagar, including the emergency  and OPD services.

Now the state government has also decided to make fresh appointments of Demonstrators and Registrars for which walk-in interviews will be held in Srinagar and Jammu on Monday.
